No Pounce Without Prey - Edition of 75

Common Buzzards (Buteo buteo) were a scarce bird in my childhood. The occasional bird would be spotted on its Spring or Autumn migration passing over east Kent but there weren’t really any residents. Now, it’s a rare day not to see one or two of the local residents circling overhead or at least hear their mewing calls if I’ve got my head down drawing!

This etching is named from a snippet of a poem - I can’t remember the title and only read it somewhere once but, it referred to the Buzzard’s reputation as something of a lazy bird (which seems a bit harsh).

Line etching and Aquatint. 24” x 18”
